What Supplies Do I Need?
Supplies for Color at Play
- Sketchbook or loose watercolor paper
- Whatever paint you have — watercolor, acrylic, gouache, or a mix
- Acrylic markers or paint markers (any brand)
- Brushes in a range of sizes
- Scissors
- Glue stick or gel medium
- A phone or camera for the Color Scavenger Hunt
- NOTE: Prompt 6 includes folding paper to make a zine. It works best with about a 98lb mixed media paper.
That's it. Use what you already own. The whole point of Prompt 2 is to dig through your stash before buying anything new.

About Roxanne
Roxanne is a creative educator, journaler, and yoga teacher who has been playing with color in her journals for over a decade — through moves, losses, a house fire, and all the ordinary days in between. She teaches at superdoodlegirl.com and believes that color confidence doesn't come from studying the rules. It comes from putting color on the page, over and over, until your eye starts telling you what it loves.
Her work is joyful and abundant — full of color layered on color, combinations that shouldn't work but do, and pages that prove you don't need a formula. You just need to start.
