Journal Pod Community Guidelines (2026)
Last Updated: January 2026
Journal Pod is a creative practice space rooted in everyday creative play, curiosity, and return to practice. This is not a class, a performance space, or a productivity challenge. It is a shared container for making, experimenting, and staying in relationship with your creativity over time.
Our community includes artists at many stages and seasons of life. Participation can be quiet or visible, consistent or intermittent. All of it belongs.
COMMUNITY PRINCIPLES
Practice Over Performance
- We value showing up to the work, not proving progress.
- We focus on process, exploration, and experimentation.
- Completion is welcome, but not required.
- We honor small moments of everyday creative play as meaningful practice.
- We use the tools we have, without waiting for “better” supplies or conditions.
Letting the Work Lead
- We learn by making, noticing, and adjusting.
- Reflection is grounded in the work itself rather than long explanations.
- We allow ideas to unfold through drawing, layering, binding, carving, and play.
- We trust that clarity often comes after action, not before.
Spacious Participation
- You are welcome to participate at your own pace and capacity.
- Listening, observing, or working quietly are valid forms of engagement.
- Sharing is invited, never required.
- There is no expectation to keep up, post regularly, or respond to everything.
Community Care & Boundaries
- We keep the space focused on creative practice.
- We respect time, structure, and the shared experience of the group.
- We avoid comparison, advice-giving unless requested, or fixing others’ work.
- We speak from our own experience and allow others to do the same.
Courses vs. Journal Pod
- Journal Pod is not instructional in the same way as courses.
- Courses teach skills and techniques in a deep and systematic format.
- Journal Pod supports ongoing practice, experimentation, and return.
- Both are valuable — and they serve different purposes.
A SHARED AGREEMENT
By participating in Journal Pod, you agree to:
- Engage with curiosity rather than judgment.
- Honor both your own limits and the structure of the container.
- Allow the work — not pressure, perfectionism, or performance — to lead.
- Journal Pod exists to support a long, sustainable relationship with your creativity.
There is no finish line here. Only return.
